(Or what I did while my husband was in deer camp)
A CHILDHOOD DREAM
As
a youngster, I would watch with rapt attention as my parent’s friends showed
their 35mm slides of their trips to Europe, and at Christmas, with envy I would
look at their elegant, white-flocked tree covered in delicate, glass ornaments
from all over the world. My greatest
wish was to someday see some of those places and have my own international
Christmas tree. It seemed an impossible
dream for the daughter of an electrician living in a small town in Oregon
during the 50’s. Yet, here I am, sharing
my photos and experiences from Prague, Czech Republic, to Bled, Slovenia, with the
hope of luring the reader to climb aboard the Rick Steves’ Eastern Europe
tour bus. Hop on with my group!
